Housekeeping Standards

Chalet Cleaning & Housekeeping

A well-prepared chalet should feel clean, orderly, and ready before guests arrive. Cleaning should restore the property while giving the team an opportunity to notice anything that looks out of place.

Housekeeping Built Around Alpine Living

Chalets are delightful places to unwind, but they handle far more grime and moisture than a normal city apartment. Heavy ski boots drag in grit and road salt, wet woolens drip in the boot room, and cozy log fires leave fine ash across the stone hearth. Cleaning a mountain home requires an understanding of how to treat untreated pine, delicate slate tiles, and exposed ironwork without causing wear.

Our cleaning teams do not rush through with a quick surface wipe. We view each turnaround as an essential inspection cycle, resetting every room to an orderly baseline while looking out for dripping taps, stained linen, or chipped glassware that would detract from a fresh arrival.

Comprehensive Property Cleaning

Each cleaning service covers the full spectrum of your home's living areas:

  • Bedrooms: Mattress checks, thorough linen changes, dusting under bedframes, wardrobe clearing, and wiping bedside lighting controls.
  • Bathrooms: Descaling fixtures in hard-water mountain regions, scrubbing tile grouting, glass shower screens, towel staging, and verifying ventilation grilles.
  • Kitchen & Dining: Degreasing ovens and extractors, checking refrigerator seals, cycling dishwasher wash tests, descaling kettles, and wiping down heavy timber dining tables.
  • Living Areas & Fireplaces: Ashpan emptying, cold hearth sweeping, glass stove-door cleaning with non-abrasive cleaners, and sofa cushion rearranging.
  • Floors & High-Touch Surfaces: Specialized timber floor sweeping and neutral pH damp mopping, sanitising door handles, light switches, and remote controls.
  • Boot Rooms & Entrances: Disinfecting boot warmers, washing down waterproof rubber floor trays, and clearing salt rings from threshold tiles.
  • Waste & Recycling: Sorting glass, paper, and general waste according to municipal mountain recycling rules and clearing outdoor bin stores.

Turnaround Cleaning vs. Deep Seasonal Cleaning

Both are essential, but they serve very different operational purposes in the life of a chalet.

Turnaround Cleaning

Between-Stay Reset

Focused on restoring the chalet immediately following one party’s departure and preparing it cleanly for the next booking.

  • Linen and towel stripping, laundering, and fresh remaking.
  • Sanitising bathrooms, kitchen worktops, and food preparation surfaces.
  • Emptying kitchen bins, dishwashers, and hearth ash.
  • Vacuuming rugs and wet-mopping entry and living floors.
  • Conducted in the tight operational window between check-out and check-in.
Deep Seasonal Cleaning

Comprehensive Restoration

Conducted ahead of peak ski season or right after the spring thaw to address build-up that routine turnovers cannot reach.

  • Pulling out major appliances to clean behind and underneath.
  • Washing interior curtain fabrics, upholstery vacuuming, and rug airing.
  • Deep descaling of steam showers, saunas, and hot tub surrounds.
  • Polishing wood paneling, oiling exposed beams, and degreasing extractor vents.
  • Clearing out high rafters, ceiling beams, and hard-to-reach light fittings.
